Transitioning the Complex, Technology Dependent CHILD from Hospital to Home Care 5/10/16 6pm
The purpose of this activity is to provide the learner with information on the disease process and skills or techniques used to manage these clients at home.

By the end of this educational activity the learner should be able to:
- Identify common diseases/disorders associated with the pediatric client
- Identify common equipment utilized by the technology dependent child
- Identify the steps involved when preparing a technology dependent child and their caregivers for discharge to home
- Identify potential emergency situations associated with the child’s airway and equipment emergencies
Alyson Bolton, RN, CPN
Alyson Bolton has been a registered nurse for over 30 years working predominately with the high tech pediatric population. She is a certified pediatric nurse who has extensive experience with children with trach and ventilators as well as central lines, feeding tubes, cough assist, CPT vest and various other mechanical devices. She has worked in the acute hospital, rehab and home care setting and most recently is working as a Transitional Care Manager for Bayada Home Health Care in North Jersey and NYC hospitals. She meets with families and helps coordinate all aspects of care from family teaching to home assessment and helps safely discharge children home from the hospital.
