Preparing for Your Simulation Lab Experience

Welcome to the BAYADA Home Health Care simulation lab! This training will help you prepare for your experience in the simulation lab, and provide you with the knowledge you need to help you succeed. In this training, you'll learn about the equipment and mannequins you'll encounter in the simulaiton lab, sample scenarios that may be used, and expectations of BAYADA while you are in the lab.
Criteria for Successful Completion of Activity
- Complete entire Self-Directed Learning
- Complete Knowledge-Assessment Checkpoint
- Complete Post-Test with a passing score of > 80%
RNs and LPNs scheduled for simulation lab sessions
By the end of this educational activity, the learner will be able to:
- identify the equipment in BAYADA simulation labs and the function of each piece
- describe the mannequin that is used in the simulation lab
- explain the expectations BAYADA has of them when they are in the simulation lab
- list the flow of the day they will experience in the simulation lab

Heather Kuzara, RN, CCSI
Heather Kuzara is the director of pediatric simulation operations for the Pediatric Practice. Heather is a registered nurse, and has worked for BAYADA Home Health Care for over 10 years. She began as a field nurse and then became a Clinical Manager, office director, simulation lab director, educator and is now in her current position. Throughout her years at BAYADA, Heather has had the privilege of working with field and office nurses, providing education and training on BAYADA specific policies and procedures. Through her work in simulation, she has attended several educational seminars and conferences in simulation that have focused on the value of strong debriefing techniques and the use of guided reflection when performing training sessions.

If course is cancelled:
By BAYADA; if the education is cancelled for any reason the learner will receive a full refund for any applicable course fee. BAYADA will not be responsible for any associated fees or costs such as travel or lodging.
