PPE Use in A COVID World

We are celebrating Infection Prevention Week 2020!

The purpose of this activity is to improve nursing professional practice of nurses so that they can proficiently use the PPE required to safely care for patients with COVID-19 and implement tips to manage the social stressors which have come from the pandemic.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this educational activity the nurses will have improved their professional practice by having:

  • Gained knowledge about COVID-19 as we know it today, how it spreads and ways to mitigate viral spread.
  • Gained knowledge how to don and doff PPE safely and comfortably.
  • Gained knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting PPE.

Kimberly A. Morris- Flores, MSN, RN

Kim works for BAYADA Home Health Care in Clinical Standards and Leadership, where she provides enterprise clinical education. Since the start of the pandemic she has been an integral member of the COVID-19 Response Team. She joined BAYADA in 2006 and she has fulfilled multiple roles most recently being Director of Quality Assurance, Pediatrics, a Quality Assurance Surveyor, a Clinical Manager, and a field nurse for them.  Kim is active on several internal committees with her organization and facilitates employee training classes.  She considers herself to have been very fortunate over the years to have been able to work and learn from institutions like Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, Bristol Myer Squib Children's Hospital in New Brunswick, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Temple University Children’s Medical Center. Kim has been licensed as an RN in New Jersey and Pennsylvania since 1993. 

BAYADA Home Health Care is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
