This course is for employees who manage or provide direct care to clients with tracheostomies and/or mechanical ventilation.

At the end of this course the nurse will know how to assess, monitor and safely care for a patient requiring tracheostomy or ventilator assistance in the home.

Sharon Driscoll, RN, CRRN

Sharon is a certified Rehabilitation Nurse with 40 plus years of nursing experience, most of it in the area of Rehabilitation Nursing. Sharon has worked for the Office of Clinical Support and Leadership for the past 10+ years and has served as Director in that office for the majority of that time. She works closely with LS and the practices to evaluate and follow up on high risk incident data and serves on the Sentinel event review committee. She is a known leader and resource in the area of care of the adult client with a tracheostomy and mechanical ventilation and is currently the project lead of a collaborative group to update, review and revise our process and all materials related to the care of our pediatric and adult trach and ventilator clients.      

Michelle Frost BSN, RN, CRRN

Michelle has been a nurse for over 20 years, working primarily with trach and ventilator clients. She obtained her most recent degree in December of 2014. She has worked in home care for 7 years; her whole career has revolved around rehabilitation nursing. She has precepted many nurses in the hospital and home care setting, with positive outcomes for those new nurses.

Margit Moran, RN, BA

Margit has over 30 years of pediatric home care experience.  20 of those years have been in various roles with BAYADA.  She has worked in a leadership role related to nursing education at BAYADA for the past 5 years, developing and teaching educational programs. The programs include Nurse Residency as well as virtual classroom for Introduction to Pediatric Homecare and Nurse Preceptor Training.
