Learning Objectives
By the end of this educational activity the learner will be able to:
- summarize the history of Home Care Nursing – how it started, how it evolved and what it is like today
- describe a typical home care patient and the Home Care Nurse’s role in taking care of that patient – case studies will be used to achieve this objective
- understand some of the most common misconceptions about the profession of Home Care Nursing

Alicia Wenrich, BSN, RN
Alicia has been with Bayada since 2003. She has been caring for clients with tracheostomies and mechanical ventilation including pediatric and adult clients for over 20 years. She has provided care in the specialty of pediatrics in both the home and acute care settings. She currently is a Clinical Educator in a Pediatric Office servicing both basic and high tech children. Her current responsibilities include, directing and evaluating the orientation of field staff, perform and evaluate pediatric and trach/vent competencies, and conduct training sessions for the ACE Programs Intro to Peds as well as Trach and Vent. She educates and supervises field staff. Alicia is a CLSI.
