Compassionate Behavior Supports LIVE WEBINAR 11/15/2022
This presentation will focus on strategies for addressing occurrences of challenging behavior (such as aggression and self-injury) and provide tips for clinicians and caregivers to support their clients. The presenters will also give an overview of the Behavioral Health practice and the services they provide for individuals with autism and other behavioral health needs.

identify preventative strategies for decreasing challenging behavior.
Identify strategies to use in a behavior crisis to deescalate behavior.
describe how to create a behavior care plan.

Kristen Koba-Burdt, BCBA
Kristen is a licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analyst who serves as division director of clinical operations for BAYADA Behavioral Health. She has provided applied behavior analysis (ABA) services for individuals across the lifespan in various settings and served as faculty for graduate-level courses in behavior analysis and ethics. Kristen has served on multiple boards and committees, including president for the Hawai’i Association for Behavior Analysis (HABA).
Whether in an official capacity or of her own volition, Kristen has tirelessly dedicated numerous hours to advocacy and advancement of systems for access to behavioral services. In 2019, she received the Outstanding Sustained Advocacy Award at the Autism Law Summit for her efforts related to consumer access to services, supporting families in rural and underserved areas, and focusing on increasing provider knowledge related to autism policy. In 2020, she received the Champion Award from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center’s Autism Insurance Resource Center for her assistance with telehealth implementation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pamela Wood, BCBA
Pamela is a licensed and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. She works as a behavior services associate for the BAYADA Oahu Behavior Analysis office where she serves as the clinical office leader. She also serves on the BAYADA Clinical Advisory Board representing the Behavioral Health Practice.
Pamela has provided services working with individuals across the lifespan in homes, communities, schools, and clinic settings. She serves as the secretary for the BAYADA Military Community Network Employee Resource Council and the secretary for the Hawaii chapter of Contextual Behavior Science. Additionally, she is credentialed in compassionate treatment approaches for severe challenging behavior. She has more than 13 years working in the field of challenging behaviors and has been at BAYADA for five years. Pamela’s passion is in teaching and training focusing on compassionate application of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
